About the project
The Red Mare of Emain is an original Great Bear Music project currently in development within Rose Arcane’s modern twelve-figure Celtic goddess series.
The series is an editorial and artistic framework, not an ancient Celtic calendar, a reconstructed twelve-goddess system, or evidence that medieval Irish tradition organized these figures into months.
Macha behind the music
The project is inspired by medieval Irish traditions concerning Macha, while remaining a modern musical interpretation. The Macha story page explains why the name should not be reduced to one simple biography: Macha appears across traditions involving sovereignty, Emain Macha, horses, childbirth, humiliation, vengeance, land, and power.

Themes and visual world
The core artistic themes are sovereignty, land, war, speed, horses, motherhood, humiliation, vengeance, boundaries, and the cost of power. These themes belong to Rose Arcane’s modern interpretation of Macha and should not be read as a fixed medieval attribute list.
